Rice Boys' Prep Hockey Hosts MPHL Kickoff Classic

For the 12th consecutive season, Rice Memorial High School has been chosen as the "Host-Site" for the Midwest Prep Hockey League Kick-Off Classic! The MPHL is composed of 10 academically challenging, college preparatory institutions from across the United States and Canada. MPHL Alumni can be seen all over the hockey landscape from the NHL, all the way down to Tier III junior hockey.

This weekend, October 28-30, 2022.  All 10 MPHL teams will be under one roof, (C. Douglas Cairns Arena) in South Burlington, VT. The Rice Boys’ Prep team (3-2) will take on four opponents over the course of the weekend in their quest for their first MPHL title. The Knights will be looking to new faces to get on the scoresheet this year, after graduating four of the top-ten point scorers in the MPHL, including ‘21-‘22 point leader, Joona Juntunen, (7G, 16A, 23 Pts). We hope you are able to come out and watch the boys showcase their hard work on the ice.

Friday 10/28/22- 11:10am vs. St. Francis High School (Hamburg, NY)
Friday 10/28/22- 4:10 PM vs. Gilmour Academy (Gates Mills, OH)
Saturday 10/29/22- 2:00 PM vs. Upper Canada College (Toronto, ON)
Sunday 10/30/22- 1:30 PM vs. Lake Forest Academy (Lake Forest, IL)

Daily Admission: $10
Weekend Pass: $20
Rice students and staff have free admission with school ID.
