Debby works with our generous Rice donors (parents, alumni, etc.) to help raise funds for the Rice Cathedral Annual Fund and other needed monies related to facility maintenance, upgrades and funds to be used for faculty and students.
The Advancement Office supports the mission of Rice High School working with the principal to identify both the current year's financial needs (Rice-Cathedral Fund) and capital/major needs of the school. The Advancement Office cultivates relationships with alumni, current and past parents to raise money for these initiatives. The Rice-Cathedral Annual Fund directly benefits the students by filling in the gap between tuition and what the actual cost to educate a student. 

Background:

• Studied business/marketing (B.A. Arts)  at Kent State University in Ohio
• 2020 Graduate of the Snelling Leadership Institute, Vermont.
• She started working at Rice in 2022 and has 1 student at Rice

I choose to work at Rice because: I believe in the mission and love the sense of family and community at Rice.

What is your favorite thing about your job? I love connecting with our donors, parents, students and staff.

If you had an unexpected afternoon off, what would you do with your time? Downtime, what’s that? Seriously, though, if I had some time off, I would love to be able to just relax and read.

Best vacation/trip you’ve ever been on: My husband and I took a trip to Maui and hiked from the summit of Haleakala in Haleakala National Park.  During this 11 mile trip, we experienced all the flora and fauna that this special place had to offer.

Favorite tradition/fieldtrip/project you do each school year: We always like to do one last fun thing right before school starts with our girls.

Favorite Rice tradition or event: Stunt Nite is fun, but I also loved experiencing how the seniors welcome the freshmen on their first day of school.

Favorite Rice Sports Team to watch:  It has to be girls soccer (since our daughter currently plays freshmen JV)​​​​​​​

Favorite Professional Sports Team or Athlete:  Our family is a die hard Cleveland Browns fan. We also enjoy Ohio State football. Go Buckeyes!

If a prospective family asked you “why should I send my student to Rice”? What would you say? 
When we decided to send our daughter, Ava, to Rice, we were impressed with the rigorous curriculum and pursuit of academic excellence.  Being from the midwest, we love how Rice aligns with our traditional values.
