- Spring Driver's Education Course at Rice

  We are continuing our longstanding partnership with instructor Paul Dudley of Dudley’s Driving Academy to offer a Spring Driver’s Ed class to help those with a learners permit looking to obtain their license. In this course, new drivers will develop skills, habits, judgement, and intuition for a life behind the wheel. This in-person course reflects proven techniques for developing good driving habits. Driving times will be during the early evening and consist of 6 hours of supervised driving and 6 hours of observation. Space is limited, so be sure to register soon.
  Schedule:
  
  Class meets or exceeds all state requirements for driver education.
  
  Class will be in-person at Rice, meets every weekday 3:00-4:00pm
  
  Specific class dates: March 3*, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, April 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
  
  *Friday, March 3rd 6-8pm - *Parent night Zoom class (remote). Each student & a parent must attend this class so we can get on the same page about the expectations, flow, and format of class.
  
  Driving will be after school and on some weekends. Student drives 6 1-hour sessions for class. Students drive in pairs. Driving slots are generally 4:00-6:00pm & 6:30-8:30pm
  
  Requirements:
  
  Student must be fully-vaccinated for COVID. Proof of vaccination will be required for registration.
  
  Student must be able to prioritize driver’s ed over other extra-curricular activities. Sports might be a conflict. Please read the class schedule carefully and compare it with your own.
  
  Student must hold a valid Vermont Learner’s permit to participate in class.
  
  Ideally student will have at least 5 hours of driving experience before class begins.
  
  Masks may be required in the driver ed car.
