Every year Rice welcomes about 30 international students from all over the world. They live with host families and attend high school full time. Many are student-athletes and play high level hockey, soccer, or football with the goal of continuing their sports careers in college. These students balance a demanding practice and game schedule with rigorous academics.
Hosting is easy and rewarding!
We are preparing for the arrival of our new students in August. Here are some of the students we are looking to match with families:
Host families welcome students into their home and care for them as if they were part of the family. International students want to experience living in Vermont and participate in activities you probably already do: apple picking, hiking, celebrating Thanksgiving, skiing. Ultimately, they want to have a memorable high school experience and a safe, place to live and study.
Host families provide:
Host family stipends start at $600 per month and offset expenses like transportation and meals.
Our International Student program depends on the generosity of host families who welcome these students into their homes. If you or someone you know are willing to open your home AND heart to these exceptional students, complete the contact form here or contact Heatherly directly:
