Inspirational Speaker & Author comes back to campusto encourage students to learn to pivot when life doesn’t turn out the way you expect. She advocates reducing anxiety and stress with three tools:
She had planned to go to college on a DI basketball scholarship when an unexpected injury forced her to pivot. She attended a different college, met her husband, and started a career path that was different than if she had continued on with basketball. Through parenting, she learned how to give up the illusion of control and embrace what is. She also spoke on the importance of being creative and how those activities can allow you to be more present and focused in other areas of life.
Lastly, she encouraged all students to lean on the community of friends, family, and caring adults and teachers that surround you.
