Moorea Lambert, Senior at Rice, launched a school-wide food-drive, taking on all the necessary roles and tasks to make it happen. She applied for a grant through the Student Life Fund then led and organized a lunch-making assembly line. She rallied student support and together students prepared over 425 bag lunches for hunger relief organization, Feeding Chittenden. This is a great example of our faith and values in action, working together to serve our local community.
She says, "I am so grateful for the immense support and enthusiasm from faculty and classmates with this project. We chose to support Feeding Chittenden because just like our school, their recipients come from many different towns. It was fun to work together as a school! It’s a small step, but I hope that it becomes part of a larger Rice tradition of active service."
Moorea continues her leadership and activism by organizing a showing of the documentary, Kiss the Ground, on Tuesday 4/16 in celebration of Earth Day. Details
