Carstensen Named Girls' Basketball Unsung Hero by Burlington Free Press
"A senior captain, Carstensen has seen her role change over her four-year career. In spot minutes for title contender Rice, Carstensen's biggest contributions this winter are her leadership and defense.
The high jump state champion uses her length, speed and quick hands to make things "uncomfortable" for offensive players.
'She's a tremendous leader and she's a big part of the team,' Rice coach Aurie Thibault said. 'She runs all over the place and she can stick an open jumper like she did against MMU in the fourth quarter (on Feb. 7).' "
