Rice Alpine Team Off to a Good Start

The Rice Alpine Ski Team opened their season up over the holidays with their first race at Burke Mountain on December 22nd. Tela Haskel led the team with a 4th place finish.

After returning from the break, the Apline Team visited the Middlebury Snow Bowl on Monday, January 9th. Facing icy conditions, they braved the tough course despite limited on-snow training, with notable finishes by men's team captain Kevin McNeil in 6th place, and on the women's side by team captain Blythe Fitch-O'Leary in 2nd place, Taylor Moulton in 5th place, team captain Tela Haskell in 9th place, and Ella McCormack in 10th place. The Alpine Team will be back in action after exams when they return to the Middlebury Snow Bowl on January 24th. Rice will also host their annual Slopeside Cup on January 30th at Cochran's Ski Area starting at 3:00 PM.
