Rice Memorial High School in South Burlington, Vermont is currently accepting nominations for its Athletic Hall of Fame. This will be the 19th group of inductees representing students from Rice and its predecessor, Cathedral High School.
Potential inductees must have graduated from either Rice or Cathedral in good standing, be out of high school for at least 10 years (Class of 2011 or earlier), and embody the mission of Rice Memorial High School. Individuals closely associated with Rice-Cathedral, such as coaches or athletic boosters who are no longer working in that capacity at Rice, may also be nominated. The Hall of Fame evaluates nomination for “greatness,” defined as “striving to be an outstanding athlete or coach, or exhibiting strong personal dedication to Rice athletics.” All nominees are kept on the perpetual candidates’ list and reviewed every two years.
The 2019 Hall of Fame class included Vermont sportscaster George Commo ’68, Rice Boosters John ’74 and Sheila ’82 Pijanowski, Jeffrey Royer ‘80, Joe Larkin ‘96, Michael Kimball ’05 and Jonathon Goldberg ‘09.
