Mr. Mazzella has been teaching chemistry and honors chemistry at Rice since 2015. Before arriving at Rice, he spent six years teaching science at Vergennes Union high School in Vergennes Vermont. Mr. Mazzella holds two bachelor of arts degrees in biology and chemistry adolescent education from the College of Saint Rose in Albany New York. Before attending the college of Saint Rose, he spent two and a half years of a six year program studying for his doctorate in pharmacy at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. During this time, he developed a love of chemistry and how molecules interact with our bodies, so he decided to leave to pursue chemistry and teaching.
During his free time, Mr. Mazzella enjoys golfing, playing hockey, watching his favorite New York Sports teams. He lives in Milton with his wife Kelli along with two cats and a pug.
